LPS 1.2.5 NEW FEATURE LIST / BUG FIX LIST
This update combines all the features and fixes from version 1.2.1 and 1.2.4 as well
as adding some new ones. It is recommended for all users.
|
New Features
|
Reports
The reports have been enhanced to provide for faster, easier and more extensive selection
of criteria. You can include any field, custom or standard, in any report. You can specify
the shows to include in a show comparison report. The printing of the reports has also been
enhanced to print using bold and colored text as appropriate. A dialog box is now displayed
when the report has been generated, alerting you to the fact that the report has been created.
|
Printing Binding Options
A 'None' binding option has been added to the printing options. This allows you to specify
no binding options for your printed paperwork, and therefore use the full width of the paper.
|
Navigation Window Popup Menu
The Navigation Window Popup menu, accessible by right clicking on the lightplot or show
name within the navigation window, now includes an Expand All option. This will open
every leaf of the currently selected lightplot or show.
|
Import Text Qualifiers
The Import process has been improved by allowing you to specify the text qualifier used
within the file being imported. The text qualifier can be specified as double quotes,
single quotes or not being used. This provides for greater flexibility when importing
files into LPS.
|
Unit Type Wizard Display
The number of circuits per unit and the number of frames per circuit are now displayed
for each instrument in the Unit Type Wizard.
|
Color Separators
When you change the color separator (Edit -> Preferences -> General), the color field
of each light in each show is now scanned to see if the new color separator affects
the light's colors. If so, the light's color swatches are updated allowing you to
visually see the changes the new color separator makes.
|
Mac and Linux Fonts
The fonts used on the Mac and Linux versions have been changed to provide for a better screen
display.
|
Import Column Matching [1.2.4]
When performing an import, LPS will attempt to automatically map the column names in the
import file with the best attribute within LPS. Any columns for which LPS cannot determine
a match will be assigned to the custom fields. You can still manually adjust the column
mapping if you wish, by clicking and dragging the columns.
|
Template Rotation [1.2.4]
The rotation of templates in both the Template Wizard and the Gobo Rotator Wizard has been
improved. The templates now rotate much more smoothly at slower speeds, providing a more
realistic animation.
|
Unit Type Wizard Display [1.2.4]
The positioning of components within the Unit Type Wizard has been improved to provide
more space for the photometric titles. This allows for more descriptive lamp designations
for each photometrics listing.
|
Unit Type Case Sensitivity [1.2.4]
LPS now allows for case-insensitive matching of units against its unit type libraries.
This allows you to enter 'PAR 64' or 'par 64', for example, and have both of them match
up against 'PAR 64' in the unit type library.
|
Exporting to txt files [1.2.4]
LPS can now export to a .txt (text) file. When you select the tab separated option in
the export dialog, the exported file will be a .txt file type. Comma separated files
are still saved as .csv file types.
|
Importing/Exporting OK buttons [1.2.4]
The 'OK' buttons in the Import and Export dialogs have been renamed as 'Import'
and 'Export' respectively. This is to make their purpose more clear.
|
Page Margins [1.2.3]
Page Margins can now be defined when printing. By default half inch margins are
used around the printed paperwork. The top, bottom, right and left margins can
be set, in inches, independently of each other from within the Print Dialog.
|
Printing Divider Lines [1.2.3]
There is now an option to print divider lines within your paperwork. A divider line
is a light gray line that is printed between each row of the paperwork. This can
make it easier to track rows across the page when reading paperwork that has a lot
of blank information.
|
Shortcuts and Stock Inventory [1.2.1]
Shortcuts may now be used when entering Stock Inventory instruments.
|
Recent Files Can Display Full Paths [1.2.1]
The 'Open Recent' menu option now allows you to display the full path to each lightplot
along with its name. This can be useful if you have multiple lightplots with the
same name. To turn this option on, go to the General Preferences dialog and check
the 'Include full path in recent file list' checkbox.

Bug Fixes
|
Fixed (Mac OS Menu Bug):
On the Mac, the menus would occasionally become inactive after using the History Details
Display Window to undo an edit. This has been fixed.
|
Fixed (Print Preview Zoom):
The Print Preview would not display properly when a zoom of less than 100% was selected.
This has been fixed. The entire zoom process has been updated to produce a far better
zoomed display of the print out. The user can now specify the zoom quality of the preview
as well.
|
Fixed (Importing) [1.2.4]:
If you imported a tab delimited file that had a quote (") in one of the fields, the
entire rest of the row could end up being imported into a single field within LPS.
This has been fixed and tab delimited fields now import correctly.
|
Fixed (Update progress bar) [1.2.4]:
When installing an LPS update, the progress bar would not always reach 100% even though
the update had fully installed. This had no effect on the installation of the update,
but was visually strange. This has been fixed.
|
Fixed (Channel sorting issue) [1.2.3]:
After performing an import, the paperwork would not sort properly by channel. Channels
would be displayed as 1,10,11,12...19,2,20,21... This has been fixed and the channel
order is now displayed correctly as 1,2,3,4,5....
|
Fixed (Design Window Fonts) [1.2.3]:
When selecting a new font for the Design Window (Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance)
the newly selected font would not be displayed until a new layout was selected. In
addition, the height of the rows in the layout's table was not adjusted. This lead
to larger fonts being cut off in the display. This has been fixed and the layouts
are now updated immediately to display the new font. The height of the rows in the
layout's table is also adjusted immediately to provide the room necessary to display
the new font.
|
Fixed (Navigation Windows Fonts) [1.2.3]:
When selecting a new font for the Navigation Window (Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance)
the newly selected font would not be displayed until a new sorting option was chosen.
In addition, the height of the rows in the navigation tree was not adjusted. This lead
to larger fonts being cut off in the display. This has been fixed and the navigation
window is now updated immediately to display the new font. The height of the rows in the
navigation tree is also adjusted immediately to provide the room necessary to display
the new font.
|
Fixed (Menu Fonts) [1.2.3]:
When selecting a new font for the Menus (Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance) the newly
selected font would not be displayed immediately in all menus. This has been fixed
and all menus are now updated immediately with the new font. Note that on the Mac,
the main menus at the top of the screen use the standard Mac OS fonts and are not
affected by the LPS appearance menu fonts.
|
Fixed (Sorting issue) [1.2.2]:
If you modified the column names and then used the Layout Editor to alter or create layouts,
some of the layouts might no longer sort properly. This has been fixed and LPS now sorts
correctly after changing the column names and using the Layout Editor.
|
Fixed (Print Layout Custom Text) [1.2.2]:
This is to do with custom footers for print outs. If you used a 'Custom Text' item
in your footers, the text for that item would always display as 'custom text' in
your print outs regardless of what you typed into it. This has been fixed. Custom
Items display their appropriate text when being printed out in your footers.
|
Fixed (Mac OSX update dialog) [1.2.2]:
On Mac OSX after checking for updates, clicking the OK button on the dialog specifying that
there were no updates, would not close the dialog. This has been fixed.
|
Fixed (Editing Shortcuts) [1.2.1]:
If you attempted to edit or add a position or purpose shortcut when there was no
lightplot open, the Editing Preferences dialog would freeze and you would not be
able to record your changes. This has been fixed.
|
Fixed (Control Channel Popup Menus) [1.2.1]:
The popup menus for the channel and dimmer control channels would sometimes be displayed
in the wrong position on the screen. This has been fixed and they now always display next
to the mouse.
