LPS Version 1.3.0 Upgrade Instructions.
All current users of LPS version 1.1.* and 1.2.* are able to upgrade to LPS version 1.3.0 for free.
The upgrade is installed via LPS' Upgrade feature. This is accessible by selecting
Edit -> Preferences -> General from within the LPS application. This will display the
General Preferences Dialog. At the bottom of this dialog is a button labeled 'Check For
Updates Now'. Click this button to check for the update. LPS will connect to the server
and display the available updates.
Updating custom colors, templates and unit-types
The file format for storing colors, templates and unit types is significantly different
in LPS 1.3 than it was in prior version. This changes help to make LPS more efficient.
A side-effect is that LPS 1.3 does not recognize any color, template or unit type files
from earlier versions.
The update process backs up the color, template and unit type files from earlier LPS
versions into three files, old_Colors.xml, old_Templates.xml and old_UnitTypes.xml
respectively.
If you have any custom manufacturers from these files that you would like import into
LPS 1.3 format, then you should use the LPS Editor (version 1.3) application's Import
feature.
