Thank goodness the Silks are small – the ceiling is only a 10’ high!  Plus, they had huge windows behind the talent.  The Silks were not only bright enough to balance with the window exposure, but I could set the color temperature exactly where I wanted. Martin Labrecque – Lighting Designer

The Challenge

ITV needed a window-control solution for their popular “This Morning” television program. They wanted to make the most of their amazing view of the River Thames. The exterior lighting changed so frequently, however, that traditional window filters couldn’t keep up. They needed a system that could adjust the exposure of the windows as the lighting conditions outside changed.

RoscoVIEW addressed ITV’s needs perfectly by allowing them to dial in the exact amount of daylight they need - ensuring that their view outside looks as good as possible in all weather conditions.

Rosco Solution

RoscoVIEW is a two-part window control system: wide-width polarizing panels for the windows and a matching polarizing filter for the camera. RoscoVIEW offers full control of the brightness in the window simply by rotating the camera filter.

Because “This Morning” is on the air throughout the year, the ITV crew found that London’s ever-changing lighting conditions meant that the light outside their windows could change drastically during the course of a single program.  They looked at several 'smart window' solutions and determined that RoscoVIEW was the only option that matched their needs.

The crew of “This Morning” now has a window control system that gives them the control they need to show off their stunning morning views of the River Thames in the background of their set.
