MAIN FOYER

Throughout history master craftsmen and artists have pushed the boundaries of possibility and potential with the fruits of their labours providing inspiration for more art, books, songs and now for Lighting Design.

Whilst the Masters’ approaches to colour and light varied hugely, one characteristic shapes all their work, as it will yours - The ability to set a scene, create a mood and reflect an emotion through the interplay of colours and the interpretation of light.

Based on an original idea by Jeremy Hoare, this collection has been created to act as an inspirational tool during your design process, relating Rosco’s rich colour filter palette to your scenic visualisation. By exploring the principle colours extracted from the paintings you will quickly see how Rosco filters can help you to reproduce the very essence of a painting and the associated mood of the time or of the place.

Welcome to the gallery...

The selection of Rosco colours filters for Lighting the Masters was, as with any creative and artistic project, an entirely subjective process. We used a Tungsten Halogen Light
to project onto a white surface to find the closest match we could, but please bear in mind there is around a four hundred year gap between the painting and the Rosco colour!
Rosco makes no guarantee of exact matches. It should also be noted that colours displayed on a computer monitor may vary depending on its configuration.
