1. Do I need a controller for an Animation Unit?

Yes you need a controller for any vari speed effects unit. You have your choice of three different controllers. The "MFX" Control Adapter may be used to control your effects units directly through your dimmer, The DC/DMX controller maybe used to control up to four motors through your DMX Control Console, and the Variable Speed Controller, Maybe used to control up to four motors manually.

2. How many Gobo rotators will a Four Channel Controller control?

The four channel controller will control four motors, in any combination. For instance you can control two (2) double Gobo Rotators, or four (4) single Rotators or two (2) single Rotators and two (2) Animation Units.

3. Can you control the DC/DMX Controller manually?

You can control the effects manually using the address switches located on the front of the controller. Switch one must me set at any value other that zero (0).

4. Can you control the Four Channel Variable Speed with a Light Board?

The Four Channel Vari Speed Controller may be controlled through a 0-10 Analog control. It is not DMX compatible.

5. How do I put four effects in the controller if it only has two connectors?

You need a DC Splitter. You plug the Splitter in to the controller and the effects into the splitter. You can now control the two effects separately.

6. I would like to put a Gobo Rotator in an Altman 3.5Q. Which unit do I need.?

Well the bad news is that you can't. Gobo Rotators only work in units with a drop in iris slot.

7. Is it possible to use glass gobos in Gobo Rotators?

Yes it is. You will need to use the Effects Adapter which adapts glass gobos to the proper size so that they will not simply fall through the hole in the Rotator.
